Full Day Tour - Murano Burano & minor island

Anyone can take the public boat, stand in a long queue and visit a little bit of these islands, but seeing all this and spending a whole day on my boat is truly iconic, even for those who, like me, were born and raised there!

My characteristic is that I'm not in a hurry, if we finish a bit later, there's no problem!

Clearly without any extra compensation, this is my hospitality and it’s fantastic because you come to know my city.

I am a Tour leader, an international Guide and I know what a visitor is looking for and wants to see. Thanks to my knowledge I will explain to you on board, each island with its own anecdotes, the vicissitudes that happen in the city and how we, local people, live in this small but wonderful city: Venice.

It’s not easy, help me keep it as beautiful as possible and bring home a memory of the real adventures here with me!!

We will start from the designated point, easy to get on board, where we will go towards Murano, skirting the island of San Michele, cemetery of the same name!

Once upon a time the deceased were buried in the city but for hygienic reasons, over time, this island was used for this purpose!

Murano

Once we arrive in Murano, the director of the furnace will be waiting for us at our reserved pier, who will illustrate all the processes of glass manufacturing; we will touch the material used first-hand, and you will be able to take photos and videos of the process! It’s a real process, they can be part of chandeliers or some commissioned object!! You will have plenty of time to ask questions and receive answers from the teacher, who will be happy to take a photo with you! You will then have an entire gallery at your disposal, in which you can lose yourself among famous artists and unique works and why not, make some purchases! Remember, everything you will see is directly produced on site by the various artists and master glassmakers!!!

Direction Burano

where together we will walk around the island in the most unique places to take photos, surely if you want we will stop to drink a coffee, perhaps an Ombra di Vino (Glass of Wine) with a cicheto (small piece of bread with a fish or vegetable) before undertaking the various stages, each of which has your own guide. Eugenio’s mask workshop, one of the last places where they are made starting from paper, modeling them, drying them and in the end they will find the hands and patience of Martina, his wife, who paints them, strictly by hand. He will explain the history of Carlo Goldoni’s Commedia dell’arte, the famous Mask of Giacomo Casanova and some fascinating anecdotes about palace parties or Carnival.

We will taste the typical Buranelli cookie, a typical exceptional product with coffee and wine but which was once the food of fishermen

The Wonder of Wonders.. THE LACE (Merletti)!

We would have the opportunity to enter a typical shop where we will find the Lace Maker, an ancient figure, an elderly lady, one of the last on the island, and we will see and witness the explanation of the seven phases for the creation of this piece of art!! Afterwards you will visit the gallery with pieces handed down through the various generations!!

We will head towards the Bell Tower, passing between typical colored houses, small shops strictly with local products, including the best ice cream on the island, a tasting of balsamic vinegar where a friendly artist paints the bottles with Burano corners… and the linen, fabric typical, fresh, unique that I always wear too, but always used by fishermen to temper the summer heat!

Maybe an island lunch. Typical and one of my favourites, the Gatto Nero, on the shore, with an internal garden….fresh fish every day, quality wine but above all local cuisine with Ruggero, the chef, for over 50 years, with truly unique recipes!! Ample booking is required, but if it is fully booked, I will have a choice for you!

Torcello

with a few minutes of navigation we will circumnavigate the island with the possibility of stopping inside and admiring the thousand-year history. From the Cathedral of the Assumption (639 AD), the church of Santa Fosca, the Devil’s bridge and the famous throne of Attila, even if Attila didn’t manage to get here!!

Mazzorbo & Mazzorbetto

Going along Mazzorbetto, an island dedicated only to fishing and agriculture, we will land in Mazzorbo, a slow local island, which hosts the famous Wine Resort, which houses a tavern, where I often go to eat given the quality of the food and the typical of the ingredients but of note is the possibility of doing wine testing, precisely because the wine with its own grapes and those of the island of the same name, owned by Swarovski, Santa Cristina Island, is famous. With a slight advance payment, I can book a real tasting or simply a visit to the vineyard with a glass of wine. The Wine Resort hosts, with great pride, a Michelin Star Restaurant, Green because everything served on the table comes from the island and the surrounding lagoon. Very nice tasting lunch.

In the afternoon, returning, it is possible, except on Mondays, to visit the ancient monastery of Francesco del Deserto, where only 5 monks live, care for and protect the island of the same name, who with patience and dedication will be able to explain to us the thousand-year history of this sacred place

We return to Venice, following the Sant Erasmo canal, passing through the island of Vignole, the island of Lazzareto Nuovo to arrive in Venice in the afternoon!!

Everything can be modified, moved according to your requests and weather and sea conditions.

I’ll wait for you on board!!!
